Walter Carl Townsend, 68, husband of the late Deborah K. Townsend, entered into rest on Monday, May 15, 2017, at Doctors Hospital of Augusta.
Graveside services will be held in the Harlem Memorial Cemetery, Harlem, Ga. with the Dr. Bill Eckles officiating.
Mr. Townsend was born in Frankfurt, Germany to the late Marvin Townsend and Mathilde B. Townsend. He was a Chemical Analyst with the DSM Chemical Company and a member of Grove First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Crystal T. Hill (Richard); three grandchildren, Ashton McKettrick, Jonathon McKettrick and Brandon McKettrick; two brothers, Jesse Townsend (Tracy) and Marvin Alex Townsend, Jr. (Caron); two sisters, Christine Patton (Mike) and Debbie Dye (Kenny); and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Deborah K. Townsend and a daughter, Shannon Hiester.
