Roland Eugene Morgan, son of the late Charles Morgan and Ida (Parks) Morgan was born June 15, 1922 in Bragg City, Missouri and departed this life on May 16, 2017 at the age of 94 years. Roland married Bernice Virginia “June” Lemonds in June of 1942. She preceded him in death February 9, 1974. On June 1, 1976 Roland married Jo Ann (McGehee) Wells.

Survivors include:

His wife: Jo Ann Morgan of Kennett, Missouri

Three sons: Randy and Audrey Morgan of Cape Girardeau, Missouri

Rex and Mary Morgan of Piedmont, Missouri

Benny Morgan of Holcomb, Missouri

Two daughters: Janet Brown and Jim of Leslie, Missouri.

Phyllis Morgan of Rosebud, Missouri

Two step daughters: Joella Morris and Joe of Hammond, Louisiana

Charla Hayes and Jim of Kennett, Missouri

Twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren

One sister: Charlene Gott of Salem, Missouri

Other relatives and many friends.

Roland was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Roland was of Kennett, Missouri and passed away May 16, 2017 at Piggott Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas. Roland served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He fought in the battles of Okinawa and Ryukyu Island and participated in the occupation of China.

Roland was a member of the VFW Post 5443 and the First Baptist Church in Kennett, Missouri.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, Missouri. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the McDaniel Chapel. Reverend Jerry Wallace and Reverend Ed Jansson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be the VFW Post 5443 of Kennett, Missouri. Honorary pallbearers: Charles Morgan and Carl Williams.

Memorials may be made to the VFW Post 5443 of Kennett, Missouri.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett, Missouri will be in charge of the arrangements.
