A beautiful and gracious woman has left a legacy of her Christian faith on earth and is rejoicing in Heaven today.

Donna Faye Wade was born on November 9, 1932 to James N. Wade and Ora Gravens Wade in Manes, Missouri. She grew up in the rural Missouri community of Evening Shade. Donna attended first through eighth grade in a one-room schoolhouse, then rode a bus twenty miles to attend Mtn. Grove High School where she graduated in 1950.

She married the love of her life Edwin Wade on July 29, 1950. When Edwin was called into ministry, Donna served at his side as they pastored churches in the states of Washington and California. Later they would move to Moore, Oklahoma where many young lives were influenced as they ministered at Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College (now Randall University). Their ministry continued in working with both young couples and senior adults at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church.

Donna was an accomplished poet, public speaker and educator. She retired from the Moore Public School system where she worked with Special Ed students for 17 years. She continued serving others by being a caregiver to the elderly. Though she faced many physical challenges in the past four years, she faced every day with grace, joy and laughter.

She is survived by her husband of the home, one daughter, Joy Kilgore and husband Tag of Suffolk, VA, one son, Michael Wade and wife Jeannene of Norman, OK, five grandchildren, Jason Kilgore (Robin), Jennifer Wade Osborn (Mark), Ryan Wade (Andi), Jeremy Kilgore (Michelle), Sara Kilgore and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four siblings Hershel Wade, Glenn Wade, Roxie Arnold, John Wade and Melvin Wade.

A Tribute Of Honor will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday May 18 at Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Norman. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Norman.
