Joe graduated from Washington High School, Class of 1950. He served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Joe worked as a telephone linemen for NJ Bell Telephone in Stewartsville, NJ, for 40 years until his retirement in 1989. Joe was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Washington. His pastimes were hunting and fishing. He enjoyed motorcycles and restoring old farm tractors. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 103.
Joe is survived by a daughter, Kelly Marie McNulty; two sons, Michael James McNulty and Michael Joseph Bittner; his longtime companion, Ruth Bittner; his grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Marie McNulty.
Friends and family may pay their respects on Friday, May 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Warren Hills Memorial Home, 234 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ 07882. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 Carlton Ave., Washington. Interment will follow at St. Joseph parish cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Warren Hill Memorial Home.
