Charles "Charlie" F. Auberry, 71, of Bradley, died Saturday (Jan. 14, 2006) at his home, following an extended illness.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais, with a 7 p.m. wake service.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bradley.

The entombment will be in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Auberry was born Oct. 24, 1934, in Washington, Ind., the son of Lawrence and Edna Pickett Auberry.

He was retired from Armour Pharmaceutical.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bradley, where he was a greeter and a volunteer.

He enjoyed caring for his yard, bowling, hunting morel mushrooms, and was a Bears fan.

Surviving is his wife, the former Gertrude N. Beaupre of Bradley, whom he married Nov. 19, 1960, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Charles "Jeff" Auberry of Bourbonnais, Mike and Linda Auberry, Andy Auberry, all of Bradley; two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan DeYoung of Bradley, Denise and Dave Welch of Sydney, Ohio; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Louie Burger of Logootee, Ind.

His parents; three brothers, Earl, Gilbert, and Thomas Auberry; and one sister, Mary Shepard, are deceased.
