Denise B. Gsell-Joyce, age 66, died peacefully in her sleep at home on Sunday, May 14, 2017 after a two year battle with colorectal cancer. Denise was a native Delawarean and was the daughter of the late Raymond S. and Beatrice F. Borders, Jr. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend.
Denise graduated from Claymont High in 1969 and from Coatesville School of Nursing in 1972. She later obtained her BSN from Wilmington University. She retired from Christina Care Health System as a vascular access nurse.
Denise is predeceased by her husband, Robert M. Joyce and is survived by her son Ryan M. Gsell, her sister LaRay A. Fox (Paul), her niece Samantha Fox, her dear friend Ann Smith and many other relatives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on May 19, 2017 at St. Margaret's of Scotland Church at 2431 Frazer Rd, Newark, DE 19702 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will occur from 10:00 am to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery at 6001 Kirkwood Hwy. Wilmington DE 19808.
The family would like to thank, Drs. Gregory Masters, Carole Guy, Irene Szeto and Fanny Berg, for all the wonderful care they provided to Denise.
