Alice Jean Scott, age 93, a native of Albuquerque and a resident here for most of her life, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 12, 2017.
Alice is survived by four children, Michael Scott and his wife, Mary of Worthington, OH, Russell Scott and his wife, Rosemarie, deceased of Roswell, NM, Phillip Scott and his wife, Margitta of Albuquerque, NM and Linda Trice and her husband, Richard of Raton, NM. Alice is also survived by seven grandchildren, Birga Alden and her husband, Robert of Albuquerque, Nathan Trice and his wife, Mindy of Peyton, CO, Rhonda Scott of New York, NY, Johanna Grassham and her husband, Daniel of Albuquerque, Lauren Ratliff and her husband, Jay of Albuquerque, Randall Scott and his wife, Joanna of Albuquerque and Jillian Solano and her husband, Dreyson of Blair, NE as well as 11 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nephews, nieces and their families.
Alice was preceded in death by her father, Herman Schulman, her sister, Evelyn Sherritt, her mother, Lucille Schulman, granddaughters, Robyn Scott and Abigail Scott and her husband of 68 years, Claude Scott.
Alice's life in Christ, shown in her sweet spirit, humility, patience, caring and self-sacrifice as a daughter, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend, was a beautiful witness to her entire extended family and all others who knew her. All four of her children and most of their children, as well as many others in Alice's extended family, have decided to follow Jesus.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Manzaño del Sol Village at 5201 Roma Avenue NE, with Rev. Cullen Woods and Rev. Harold Trott officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park at 700 Yale Boulevard SE. Pallbearers will be Russell Scott, Randall Scott, Richard Trice, Nathan Trice, Robert Alden and Daniel Grassham. Alice Scott's family is grateful for the care of the Manzaño del Sol staff and the invaluable hospice services of Ambercare.
