BRAZIL - Linda Farmer, 76, of Brazil, passed away May 13, 2017, at Union Hospital. She was born Jan. 31, 1941, in Clay County, the daughter of Herschel Hudson and Ina Staley Hudson.
She graduated from Brazil High School, Class of 1958. She was hired by Mary Weddle in 1957, while still in high school, to work at the Riddell National Bank. Linda was a loyal bank employee, achieving the title of vice president. She retired in 2002.
Linda was united in marriage on Oct. 1, 1988, to Frank Farmer, he survives.
Linda has been a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. Frank and Linda have been avid supporters of the St. Vincent Clay Hospital, "Festival of the Trees," and received a special award for their years of support
Together Linda and Frank had their home built in Brazil. Her home was her sanctuary. She and Frank have enjoyed decorating their home for each season using their collection of Longaberger Baskets and especially looked forward to Covered Bridge time, and Halloween. They also entertained in their home many years during the Christmas season, hosting holiday parties with all the trimmings. Having her flowers planted in just the right colors was something she took great pride in. She enjoyed watching out her window, checking on the birds, squirrels and watching the seasons change. She also enjoyed the company of their dogs, Sadie, BoBo, and Ginger.
Survivors include her husband; her son, L.D. Bowman II (Kelli Muncie) of Brazil; grandson, Kodey Bowman; Amber Sturgeon and Evan Sturgeon; great-grandchildren, Trenton Bowman and Zaden Orman; brothers, James Hudson of Michigan, Johnnie Hudson (Arlene) of Martinsville; special niece, Darla Garrigus (John) of Evansville; other nephews, Bob Bedwell (Karen), Tom Hudson (Teri); nieces, Joann Sallagra (Frank), Janet Boling (Greg), Robin Will (Mark); other extended family and her "extra family at Riddell Bank".
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Dorothy Bedwell; grandson, Kasey Bowman, two years ago on the same day, May 13.
