Marie H. Barron, 78, of 287 Jerry Smith Road died Saturday at Lakeside Nursing Home. Born in Ithaca, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Helen Beckwith Bennett. Her husband, Harry, died in 1976.

Mrs. Barron was a former member of Grace Baptist Church, South Lansing, and a member of the Lansing Senior Citizens.

Surviving are three sons, Harry M. of Dryden and Paul E. and James L., both of Lansing; five daughters, Ruth E. Ford of Monteverde, Fla., Helen M. Grant of Trumansburg, Harriet E. Schrier of Huntsville, Ala., Lois E. Decker of Odessa and Carol L. Boles of Lansing; two brothers, Robert Beckwith of Rochester and George Beckwith of Lansing; four sisters, Virginia Varga of Genoa, Jane Koontz of Southport, N.C., Dorothy Lee of New Hempstead, N.C., and Phyllis Clevenger of Weaverville, N.C.; 23 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by a son, Robert G. Barron who died in 1972.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bangs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lansingville Cemetery. Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
