Ernestine Brooks Lewis, 81, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at Kingston Nursing Home. She was born July 25, 1935 in Horry County, a daughter of the late Jesse and Letha Hughes Brooks.
She was also predeceased by her husband, Aaron James Lewis Sr. and three brothers, Carl, Levon and J. C. Brooks.
Ernestine had a wonderful sense of humor, which brought joy and laughter to everyone around her. Always willing to step up to the plate, she was the one who helped her parents take care of her brothers and sisters.
Ernestine was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her son, Aaron J. Lewis Jr. of Conway; twelve siblings, Leon Brooks (Lynn), Ray Brooks (Brenda), Buddy Brooks (Mildred), A. B. Hucks (Wanda), Lamar Skipper (Mildred), Bobbi Jean Coker (Bobby), Dianne Strickland (Lyle), Wanda Gail Lewis (Mike), Juanita Strickland (Rev. Clifford), Sally Brown (Charlie), Patricia Harper (Larue) and Harriett Causey (Russell); two grandchildren, Katie Jo Lewis and Hayley Jade Lewis; one step granddaughter, Sandra Lewis (Graham) who helped take care of her and seven step grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 3pm Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Westside Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
