SANTA FE—Mrs. Margaret Louise Wetzel passed from this life Sunday afternoon, May 14, 2017, in Texas City.

Born July 9, 1932 in Huntington, TX, Mrs. Wetzel had been a resident of Santa Fe for 24 years, previously of Texas City. She spent her life creating a loving home for her family and friends. Known as “Mamma Lou” by her grandkids her greatest pleasure was taking care of her kids and grandkids along with Matthew and Kenneth who she considered her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Dewey McFarland and Jessie Cook; sisters, Glenda Faye Dearmond, Frankie Cook, Dorris Rinolds and brother, Buddy McFarland.

Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, George Wetzel; sons, Mike Wetzel and girlfriend, Laura Wolf, Mark Wetzel and wife, Wendi; brother, Denny Ray Cook; sister, Lennie Faye Grover; grandchildren, Amber Pollino, Josh Wetzel, Kade Wetzel; great grandchildren, Graham Pollino and Emma Pollino.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the Pentecostals of Santa Fe Church, 12811 FM 1764, Santa Fe, with Reverend Thomas Custer, Reverend L.M. Jeane and Reverend Kenneth O’Connell officiating. Entombment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Dearmond, Reverend Kenneth O’Connell, Blake Pollino, Lynn Ray Turner, Charles Walker and Matthew Warren. Honorary bearers will be Kade and Josh Wetzel.
