Mrs. Mary A. Field (Mitus) (Palmer) age 91 went to be with the Lord Friday May 12, 2017. She was preceded in death by: her husbands, Robert Mitus and Jack Field; her parents, Richard and Marian Palmer; her brother, Bill; her son, Robert Mitus, Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Susan Mitus, and Jack's daughter, Mary Ann Bieritz.

She was married to Robert from 1947 until his death in 1981, and is survived by their children: Marybeth Mitus (Keith Callis), James Mitus (Donna Fischer), and daughter-in-law Brenda (Greg) Fausett. Also surviving are ten grandchildren: Patrick Halas, Hilary (Jeff) Embrey, Bob Mitus III, Erin (Ryan) Burke, Amy (Ross) Wilson, Andrea (Adam) Underhill, Tony (Angelina) Mitus, Laura (Chris) Judge, Julie (Spencer) Brown, and Katie Mitus. Mary was thrilled to have known sixteen great-grandchildren: Morgan and Aaron Embrey, Adam Burke, Kyle Mitus, Emery and Sloane Wilson, Matalie, Austin, and Colin Underhill, Elliot, Owen and Ian Mitus, Thomas, Annalyne, and Lila Judge, and Theo Brown.

She was married to Jack from 1989 until his death in 2003, and is survived by his children: Susan Harmon, Joe (Sharon) Field, Mark Field, Marcia (Joe) Velasco, Joanne (Rick) Johnson, Matt (Arleen) Field, Mike (Glenna) Field, Dave Bieritz; fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Palmer, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary graduated from Catholic Central in 1944. She worked as an editor for Fideler Publishing for 25 years until the company closed in 1986. She then spent another ten years as a bank teller. She was a member of St. James Church for over 60 years. Her contributions included serving as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Altar Society, and a volunteer for numerous other projects and fundraisers. She was a longtime member of the then Saint Mary's Hospital's Mary Catherine Guild. Mary loved her Detroit Tigers.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at St. James Church where she will repose one hour prior to the mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday at the Arsulowicz Brothers Remembrance Mortuary 3525 Remembrance Rd NW where the Rosary will be prayed Tuesday.
