CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA - John David Sargent "Big John", 49, died Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tennessee.
He was born in Abingdon, Virginia; son of the late Edro and Eula Osborne Sargent. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Deane and Joe Sargent. He was a graduate from Castlewood High School, class of 1987, and was a member of Rings Chapel Church.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Sargent; son, Nicholes Sargent and girlfriend, Kristin Johnson of Kingsport, Tennessee; step daughter, Traci Jessee and husband, Doug of Castlewood, Virginia; a special grandson, Branson Jessee of Castlewood, Virginia; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Services for John David Sargent will be conducted at 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 15, 2017 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Tom Anderson officiating. Committal Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Nicholes Sargent, Roger Francisco, Kevin Hylton, Rick Helbert, Eddie Mitchell and Joey Hawkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be his co-workers from K-VA-T.
