March 02, 1925 - May 11, 2017 Beth Conner, 92, widow of Rev. Kale Conner, died Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the Berea Health and Rehabilitation Center. Beth was born in North Carolina to the late Robert and Elba Bennett Hawes. She was a loving mother to her children and very active with the family business, Conner Woodworks. She was a member of the Middletown Baptist Church. Beth was also preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Bruce Woods, and her siblings: Emma Laye Gore, Robert, Douglas, and Merle Hawes.
Beth is survived by her children Peggy (Rev. Bill) Woods, of Berea, and Sarah (Earl) Botkin, of Conway, SC; her brother, Maurice Joe Hawes, of Shallotte, NC; her sister, Raye Troutman, of Greenville, NC; her grandchildren: Matthew (Britta) Woods, Mark (Sarah) Woods, and Valerie Botkin; and great grandchildren: Trevor, Hailey, Emily, Ethan, Eli, and Evan Woods, Trey and Cole Stewart.
Funeral services will be Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 2 P.M. at Lakes Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenny Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Berea Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Trevor, Ethan, Eli and Evan Woods, Trey and Cole Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bill, Matthew, Mark, Hailey, and Emily Woods, and Earl Botkin. Visitation will be Friday from 5-9 pm at Lakes Funeral Home.
