Johnny Lee Gossett, 70, of Sevierville and formerly of Seymour, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017.

He was a member of Dupont Baptist Church in Seymour. Johnny was a Vietnam Veteran and had worked for TDOT. He loved fishing, hunting, and playing softball. Johnny enjoyed spending time at the lake with family and friends while riding on the pontoon boat in the Co-Captain's chair with his trusty side-kick, "Marley".

He was preceded in death by his Pap, Andrew Houston Rogers; Father, James Gossett; Mother, Zora Rogers Gossett; Brothers, Andrew and George Gossett; Brother-in-law, Pink E. Gibson; and Sister-in-law, Lois Gossett.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Betty Kay Gossett; Daughter and Son-in-law, Kim and Lynn Caylor; Grandchildren, Brianna Byars, and Ryan Byars and his wife, Jennifer; Sisters, Ida Gibson, Mary Gossett, Shirley Mize and her husband, Jim; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM Sunday, May 14th at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. Family and friends will meet 11 AM Monday at Dupont Cemetery for the graveside service and interment with David Providence speaking.
