Judith Allen Arnold Harper passed away on April 26, 2017, at Providence Hospice Place at St. Catherine in Waco, Texas. We want to thank and appreciate everyone at Providence Hospice for their dedication and support the last three months of Judy's life; kind and gentle care Judy received was commendable. Being an educator, Judy wanted to help others in some form to improve lives. Because of health circumstances she could not be an organ donor as she originally planned, so she elected to be part of the Willed Body Program; therefore no funeral arrangements will be made.

There will be a memorial service to honor Judy at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum. Casual attire and no flowers please.

She was in school in Mason until her senior year when her family moved to Slaton, Texas, where she graduated from Slaton High, in 1961. Judy received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Judy taught second grade 33 years for the Waco Independent school district, 23 at Lake Waco Elementary, and 10 at Meadowbrook Elementary where she retired in 1995. She married Bill Arnold of South China, Maine in 1964 and was a long time member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church.

After Bill's death in May 2011, she married Victor Harper of Waco, Texas, in December 2012 and became a member at Lake Shore Church of Christ. For over 20 years she was a member of the Young at Heart and Sul Ross dance clubs; something she and Bill really enjoyed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, of 46 years; her parents; and her grandparents, the C.S Vedders and Snowden Allens.

She is survived by her husband, Victor Harper; her brother, Jerry Allen and wife, Vickie, of Uvalde, Texas; a nephew, Bret Allen and family of Uvalde, Texas; two nieces, Jane Gardenhire and family of Hondo, Texas, and Staci Allen and family of Dripping Springs, Texas; plus 10 great-nieces and great-nephews and two great-great nieces; and numerous cousins.Memorial may be made at the discretion of the donors.
