Etheleen Campfield Babb died in Charlotte, North Carolina, at the age of 87 on Saturday, March 4, 2017. Mrs. Babb is survived by her children, Rhonda McEntire, Roger Babb and wife Pam, Debbie Alamad, and son-in-law Gary Browning; her sisters Eloise Potts, Karen Kirby, and Kathy Sines; her grandchildren Mac McEntire and wife Leslie, David Babb, Carol Shipes and husband Brian, Christina Bartolotta and husband Titus, Carlos Babb and wife Meagan, Jeramy Alamad, and Alicia Alamad; her great-grandchildren Chloe Young and husband Clay, Jazlyn McEntire, Journey McEntire, Devon Babb, David Babb Jr, Brittany Turner and husband Shelton, Brianna Shipes, Patience Shipes, Haeley Shipes, Belle Shipes, Brian Shipes II, Randy Shipes, Shiana Shipes, Stevin Shipes, Brisen Shipes, Josiah Bartolotta, and Noah Bartolotta; and her great-great-grandchild Charlotte Young.

She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Babb, her children Ricky Putman and Rebecca Corey; and her parents Nora Campfield and Carlos "CC" Campfield. Etheleen was born on February 15th, 1930, in Henrietta, North Carolina to Carlos "CC" and Nora Campfield.

She married Eugene Babb, a machinist engineer, on May 15th, 1953. After moving to Charlotte, North Carolina, the couple welcomed four children over eight years into their home and set about teaching a life of morals and ministry. Etheleen graduated from Lancaster High School in 1946; she was accomplished at caring for others and compassionate work for the less fortunate. She worked as a social worker for Mecklenburg County for over twenty-seven years. During her career, she received several awards and gained lifelong friends through charitable work in the community. Etheleen was an active and dedicated member of Ranch Road Church of God in Charlotte, North Carolina.

She was a woman of God who dedicated her life to ministry and community. A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, March 7th, 2017, at 2 PM with visitation beforehand from 12-2 PM at Ranch Road Church of God, 1601 Ranch Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, 28208. Pastor Phillip King will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Etheleen's life.
