Claude H. Dickens, 82, of Escalon, Calif., a former resident of the eastern Idaho area, died Jan. 14, 1998, in Allen, Texas.
He was born March 3, 1915 in Rigby, Idaho to James and Almeda HIll Dickens. On Jan. 14, 1939 he married Elda Mae Butler in Swan Valley, Idaho. He had retired from the teamster's union. His wife died in 1992.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had served as worthy patron of the Order of Eastern Star and was also a member of the Star King San Francisco Masonic Lodge for 50 years. He enjoyed all of his family, including his numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.
Survivors include his son, Claude (wife, Donna) Dickens of Allen, Texas; a daughter, Sherry Borg of Modesto, Calif.; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Coltrin Colonial Mortuary, 2100 First St, in Idaho Falls.
