John Melvin Dorey, 78, of Fordyce, Arkansas, passed away on February 3, 2007 in the Jefferson Regional Medical Center at Pine Bluff.

He was born on December 31, 1928 at Hope, Arkansas.

John was a retired logging contractor, a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Fordyce, and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Murry Dorey; and his parents, Robert Melvin Dorey and Marila Burns Dorey.

John is survived by one son, John Dorey of Burleson, TX; one daughter, Dianner Bronson of Jeffersonville, IN; two grandchildren, Sarah Forden and Jonathan Bronson; and three brothers: Paul Dorey of Malvern, Carlton Dorey of Leola, and Merle Dorey of Bearden.

The graveside services will be held at Bethel Cemetery near Bearden with Rev. B.L. Blann and Rev. Paul Dorey officiating.

Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce was in charge of arrangements.
