Kathryn L. "Kitty" Davis, 96, formerly of Mifflintown (Arch Rock), died July 19, 2022 at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital. She had most recently made her home at North Ridge Center, McAlisterville.
Born August 2, 1925 in Arch Rock, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late J. Calvin and Eva (Warner) Gray.
On April 16, 1948, she married Raymond W. Davis, who preceded her in death on August 5, 1989 after 41 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Darlene Davis, and a son, Raymond L. "Raymie" Davis, as well as one brother, Samuel Gray.
She is survived by four children, Diane L. Graff and husband Duane of Port Royal, George G. Davis of Mifflintown, Earl G. Davis and wife Cindy of Oakland Mills and Polly S. Digon and husband Rob of Mifflintown; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Kitty was a 1943 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown. Earlier in life she worked as an operator for the United Telephone Company. She and her husband later owned and operated Davis Lawn and Garden Equipment for several years.
She was an active member of her community, giving of her time and immeasurable talents to friends, relatives and service organizations in many capacities, from Cub Scout den mother to hospice driver, and as a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown. Her most meaningful time, however, was spent as a patient, imaginative and tireless mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
After a lifetime of caring for others, her family is comforted to know that Kitty has found the rest and peace that she so deserved.
At Kitty's request, there will be no public services.
In honor of Kitty's lifetime of service to others, the family asks that you do something kind for someone in her memory.
