Ramona Hartman
Ramona Hartman, age 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. She finished her race with two of her daughters by her side.
Ramona was born in Nampa, Idaho on January 5, 1926 to Willard and Effie Isgrigg. She attended the Nampa schools and graduated from NNc's high school in 1943. She attended college at NNC for three years where she met her husband Jim Hartman. They were married on September 16, 1945 in Nampa, Idaho at First Church of the Nazarene. Because of the war, there were only three wedding dresses in the whole valley for her to choose from. One of the dresses was perfect for her! They had one son and three daughters.
They moved to Oakridge, Oregon in 1953 where they built their dream home in the mountains. She played the piano and taught Sunday school at Oakridge Church of the Nazarene.
In 1969 they moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. They were actively involved at Honolulu First Church of the Nazarene. They loved serving the church together. They helped with the bus ministry and visited shut ins who could no longer attend church.
Ramona loved to read, especially her Bible, play the piano and have tea parties with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was kind and generous and never spoke an unkind word about anyone. She loved all her children and grandchildren unconditionally. She was always interested in their lives and enjoyed attending all their sporting events, musical recitals and choir concerts. She possessed all of the attributes of the fruit of the spirit – Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents Willard and Effie Isgrigg, her brother Herbert Isgrigg, her son Dennis Hartman, her son-in-law George Furuyama and her husband of nearly 71 years, Jim Hartman.
She is survived by her three daughters in Nampa, Dena Furuyama, Jana (Keith) McKim, and Jeri (Benny) Choy, 12 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.
The family would like to thank Ramona's many caregivers at Grace Assisted Living, Streamside Assisted Living and Harrison's Hope Hospice for their loving care of their mother.
A celebration of Ramona's life will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Nampa.
"Mom, we know you are having a great reception in heaven being reunited with dad and Denny and so many other family members and friends. We miss you! This in not 'goodbye', this is 'see you soon'".
Memorial contributions may be given to the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries at NCM.org. Or mailed to NCM 17001 Prairie Star Parkway, Lenexa, KS 66220.
