Annie Lucille Franklin, 97, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Healthwin in South Bend, IN. Lucille was born on September 9, 1919 in Kendrick, MS to Ed and Annie M. (Kiddy) Sandusky. She grew up in and around Savannah, TN and married Jessie Zar Franklin in Savannah, TN. They moved to Mishawaka, IN in the early 1950's. Lucille worked for Wells Manufacturing and retired in 1977. She was a member of the Currant Road Church of Christ in Mishawaka, IN.
Lucille is survived by one son, Jessie Eugene Franklin of South Bend, IN; one daughter, Barbara A. Walden in the Cardinal Nursing Home, South Bend; four granddaughters, Kelly Payne, Laura Franklin, Margaret Franklin all of Washington State, Tina Highland of Mishawaka, IN; two great grandchildren, Steven Highland and Sabrina Hamilton of Mishawaka, IN; two great greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Cagle of Tishomingo, MS and Shelby Pigg of Tuscumbia, AL and many nieces and nephews.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Franklin; her father, Ed Sandusky; her mother, Annie M. Sandusky; two daughters, Jackie Nell Franklin and Amanda Franklin; one grandson, Gary Highland; five brothers, RD Sandusky, GC Sandusky, JE Sandusky, Howard Sandusky and Kenneth Sandusky and one nephew, Randall Madden.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 16 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 17 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
