Earl “Dee” Sims, Sr., 79 of Rossville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 12, 2017. He had lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life and was a member of Old Fort Baptist Church. He retired from Southern Machine Tuftco in 2008 after more than 31 years of service as a Machinist and was an avid Alabama Football Fan “Roll Tide”. He was also a CB Radio enthusiast and was a loving and devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be truly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Winnie Sims and four brothers, Glenn, Richard, John L. and Clarence Sims.
Survivors include his loving wife of more than 45 years, Louise Whaley Sims of Rossville, GA; 7 children; 2 brothers; 4 sisters; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Dean Sims and Rev. Wayne Winters officiating. Entombment will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday and prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
