Life Legacy

Robert "Bob" Phillip Noble, 54, went home suddenly to be with his Lord and Savior, on Saturday, August 29, 2015. He passed away peacefully in his Fresno home. While this has been a devastating shock to his family, heaven had been on Bob's mind when just a few weeks earlier he posted this on his Facebook page:

"My one desire is that on That Day when I am called to stand before
The Lord and give account, I will only be able to kneel and give
a count of what He has done for me."
Bob Noble ~ August 4, 2015

Robert "Bob" was born August 12, 1961 to the late Bob W. and Betty Jean (Chevoya) Noble in Avenal, California. The Noble family, which also included his big sister Nancy, 14 years his senior, was a prominent family in the town of Avenal, both in the community and in the Avenal Assembly of God church. As a child, he was lovingly referred to as "Bobby" and he shined as a student who loved to read books of all kinds, especially in the science and technology fields. He enjoyed Boy Scouts, making models, and music. His mother Betty Jean, a prolific pianist, introduced him to music of all kinds. Bobby loved singing at a young age and began to "drum" with his hands on anything he could get a sound out of.

In high school, Bob excelled in all his studies as his photographic memory served him well. He took part in student government, choir, band, and drama. He became a passionate and skillful drummer in both marching and jazz bands. It was during this time that his love for music flourished and it would become his lifelong gifted pursuit. He graduated high school in Avenal with the class of 1979.

After high school, Bob continued reading and learning and literally became a walking encyclopedia of useful information. At times, he was jokingly accused of being the "King of Trivia and Useless Knowledge". The truth is that even though he did not have a formal traditional college education, he was more well-versed and informed than most college graduates on many subjects of interest.

In 1980, Bob moved to Fresno, and it was then that he began attending Evangel Tabernacle where he met the love of his life, Laura Ann Hough. They were both swept off their feet and were joined in marriage on July 24, 1982. They built their lives here in Fresno and had two beautiful daughters, Audrey Christine in 1984, and Traci Renee in 1987. Later, they became the host family to many international students, several of whom have considered them to be their second parents.

Bob enjoyed working for the Irrigation District of Fresno County for several years before settling in with the Ulbrich Stainless Steel Company of Fresno, where he dedicated 28 years of lending his technology skills. His hobbies included technology of all kinds, Rock and Roll trivia, singing, DJ-ing for weddings, cooking, and just "life" in general. He was a patriotic, science-fiction loving, humorous story-teller who captivated audiences everywhere he went.

Bob Noble was a man whose life touched so many, and his absence leaves a hole of great magnitude in all who knew him. To his wife Laura, he was her love, her strength and her best friend. To his daughters he was their loving "Daddy", the man who could do all, fix all, cheer them up with his wit and humor, and the man who would be there to support them in all their endeavors. To his grandchildren, he was lovingly called Papa and Parpar, and they were truly the light of his life. To his sister, who was often a second mother to him, he was her partner in comedic crime, and they kept the family in stitches at every occasion. He kept his family entertained, and was known for his anecdotes and bits of wisdom. He loved cooking and hosting family get-togethers. He was a superb chef and his "turkey stuffed turkey" at Thanksgiving time became famous, along with his German chocolate cakes.

To his extended family and friends, he was a man of integrity, a man who never knew a stranger, and a man who treated every person he met with dignity and love. He was a man who made a difference in all of these lives.

In addition to these wonderful attributes, his most noteworthy achievements were the things that he considered to be most important, and that was the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was not ashamed of this gospel and took every opportunity to speak to others, pray for others, and give them encouraging words from the Lord. Bob Noble was a gifted and spiritual leader in the lives of so many. His warm and charismatic nature was endearing to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Although he wasn't the oldest family member, he was considered by many as the family patriarch as he was the one who would lead the devotion and prayer at family reunions. He was ever faithful to his church and to his Lord.

Bob also spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through his gifted music ministry. He enjoyed singing with the Evangelmen Quartet for several years. His singing was truly anointed and touched the hearts of all. Although Bob loved music of all genres, it was the music with a message that ministered to people that interested him the most. It was his passion to spread God's love in this way. Hearts were encouraged and tears would flow when Bob would sing.

Bob leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his devoted wife of 33 years, Laura Noble; his daughter, Audrey and husband Tony Finney; and daughter Traci Noble; his two grandchildren, Ava and Andrew Finney; his sister Nancy and her husband Bill Skaggs, his two nieces, Valerie and her husband Charlie Fox, and Erin and husband Steve Martin of Las Vegas, and their five children: Matthew, Joshua, Elijah, Samuel, and Sarah. In addition to his immediate family, Bob will be lovingly remembered by numerous aunts and uncles and cousins on the Noble and Chevoya sides of the family, many of whom he considered to be as close as brothers and sisters. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Bob W. Noble in 1985 and Betty Jean (Chevoya) Noble in 1988.

Heaven has gained a beautiful soul when Bob Noble stepped into glory just some days ago. He is rejoicing with his family members and more importantly, his Savior, Jesus Christ. And as he has stood before the Lord to give his account, we can be assured that he has counted all his blessings and was thankful for all that Christ had done for him: For his family, for his friends, for his salvation.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the many family members and friends who have been such a support and blessing these past two weeks. Without all of you, walking through this would not be possible. They sincerely thank Northeast Assembly of God, Bethel Christian Center and Clovis Family Christian Fellowship for all their prayer, and contributions for the memorial service and reception.
Bob was cremated and although he had previously suggested it as "A really great idea" - we did NOT stuff his pockets full of popcorn kernels.
