Margie Barber Scott, 88, died peacefully Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in Great Falls, MT of natural causes. A Funeral service will be held May 15 at 2:00 PM, in The Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home with Burial to follow at Highland Cemetery.

Margie was born on July 20, 1928, in Denton, MT on the family farm. She graduated from Denton High School, and attended two years of business school in Great Falls. She married her childhood sweetheart, Jack Scott, in 1949. They followed Jack’s baseball career until moving to Victor, and then Fairfield, MT, where Jack taught school and coached sports.

Margie was a devoted wife, mother, and child care provider until moving to Great Falls in 1972, where she worked for Sears as a salesperson. She enjoyed her crafts, reading, Facebook, genealogy, cooking, and spending time with her family. She truly enjoyed meeting “her gals” for coffee.

She is survived by her five children and their spouses; Kathy (Jim) Lane, Debbie (Jack) Mackie, John (Colleen) Scott, Ron (Maureen) Scott, and Bob (Lisa) Scott; two brothers, Harold (Naomi) Barber, and Larry Barber; two brothers-in-law, Dick (Melodee) Scott and Clint (Shirlyne) Scott; grandchildren, Rick (Farah) Lane, Scott (Megan) Lane, Sean (Dawn) Lane, Nick (Mandy) Patch, Ronni Scott, Tayler Halko, Austin Scott, Brittney Scott, Jessica Scott, Kari (Ryan) Picicci, Victor Scott, and Nolan Scott; 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Noland and Lela Barber; husband, Jack Scott; two infant daughters, a son-in-law, Dan Patch, and a sister-in-law, Terry Barber.
