George L Allshouse was born in 1832, the son of Peter Allshouse & Margaret (?). Some time before 1840, his family moved to Limestone, Clarion County from Union County, PA. Here, he married Mary Ann Grove in 1855, They had seven children: Ella Clementine Allshouse, George F Allshouse, Anna Martha (Allshouse) Moffet, Albert Grant Allshouse, William F Allshouse, Laura J (Allshouse) Fowler and Cassandra Allshouse. George was a school teacher in Jefferson County & also a justice of the peace. An illness required him to spend the last 10 years of his life living in the South Side in Pittsburgh, where he died in 1899.
