Born in Lynchburg, VA, on November 20, 1947, he was the son of John W. (Billy) Hunt, Jr. and the late Joyce R. Hunt. He was a 6-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam Era. A graduate of Amherst County High School and Bible College in Indiana, he pastored Heritage Baptist Church in Spring Lake, NC, and Faith Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, CO. Dennis & Nancy returned to Virginia in 1998. He founded Guaranteed Network Services (GNS Networks), providing internet service to rural Appomattox and Charlotte Counties.
In addition to his wife, Dennis is survived by his father and stepmother, Billy and Edna Hunt of Madison Heights, devoted daughter Tina Hogate of Winston-Salem, NC, son Jerry (Rhonda) Hunt of Littleton, CO, granddaughter Jessie Hunt and grandson Jason Hunt of Phoenix, AZ, sister Dianne (Clarence) Williams of Madison Heights, brother John (Rita) Hunt of Charlottesville, mother-in-law Hallie Watson, brother-in-law Tim (Brenda) Watson, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebration of Dennis' life will be held at Whitten Monelison Chapel on Friday, February 19, 2016, at 7:00 p.m., with the Rev. Jim Freeman officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 6 - 7 p.m. A private family burial will take place at Virginia Memorial Park.
