Ann Elizabeth Diedrich of Bartlett, IL (formerly from DeKalb) passed away on May 7, 2017 at her home surrounded by family.

Ann was born to Robert and Gwyneth (Jones) Diedrich of DeKalb on Aug. 17th, 1959. She moved to Bartlett in 1997 and was cared for by her sister Sarah and brother-in-law Gary McMahon.

Ann was a treasure to all of her siblings, Sarah (Gary) McMahon, Robert (Andrea) Diedrich, Jane (Bob) Rosemier, Theresa (Michael) Brown, Victoria (Chris) Cosby, Paul (Star) Diedrich, Patrick (MaryAnn) Diedrich, and Michael (Lisa) Diedrich. She is remembered fondly by her 16 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Diane Diedrich and Linda Heinisch.

Ann had a heart of gold that shone through to every person she met. She worked at Opportunity House in Sycamore for many years and Association for Individual Development in Elgin for 15 years. During that time she was a conscientious worker who earned employee of the year, a good friend to co-workers, and known for her charismatic charm on the dance floor. Ann's one wish was always for her family to be together. She lived for birthdays and holiday celebrations with family, summer days at the pool, and spending time with her best buddy Dylan and dog Benson. Ann brought sunshine into every room she entered and everyone around her could feel it.

Friends can visit from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb, with a Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 Pine St., DeKalb, with the Father Dean Russell celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in DeKalb.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Annie Diedrich Memorial Fund, in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 S. Fourth St., DeKalb, IL 60115.
