John W. Beebe age 87 of New Richmond, WI passed away on May 10, 2017.
He was born in New Richmond, WI on July 13, 1929, graduated from New Richmond High School with the class of 1946 and Mortuary Science School in Milwaukee in 1950. He was married to Beverly Anderson in February 1951. John worked for the family furniture store and mortuary until he retired in 1991. He was a past president of the District Funeral Directors Association, First Lutheran Church, New Richmond Chamber of Commerce, St. Croix Valley Shrine Club, and New Richmond Kiwanis Club. He served on the New Richmond Planning Commission Advisory Board of St. Croix Correctional Center, the Board of Directors of the New Richmond Preservation Society, St. Croix Telephone, and New Richmond Cemetery Board. John was an active member of the Masonic Lodge, Shrine Club, PWP and trustee of OES #37, and a former member of Roberts Odd Fellows. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, puttering around the house and yard, and always tried to beat Bev in cards. He spent many enjoyable years at his winter home in Mesa, AZ. His life commitment was to help anyone in need.
He is preceded in death by his parents, L.H. and Adeline Beebe; wife, Bev; granddaughter, Kimberly Welshons; brothers-in-law, Harold Shay, Percy Anderson, Don Rogers; and sister-in-law, Marlys Anderson.
John is survived by his children, Debbie (Joel) Welshons, John (Lorie) Beebe II, David (Sandy) Beebe; grandchildren, Nick (Ericka) Beebe, Andy (Kat) Beebe, Nicole Welshons, Matt (Courtney) Beebe, Chris Welshons; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Shay; brother, Jim (Sharon) Beebe; brother and sisters-in-law, Richard (Pam) Anderson, Betty Rogers, Joanne Anderson, Sharon (Bill) Zemke; numerous, nieces, nephews and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 2 pm at First Lutheran Church in New Richmond. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 4-8 pm with a Masonic Service at 7:30 pm at the Bakken-Young Beebe Chapel in New Richmond and on Tuesday from 1-2 pm at the church. Interment will be in New Richmond Cemetery.
