Revised/Corrected Obituary
Robert "Bob" Wilson Dunn was born April 16, 1914, at the Dunn homeplace in the hills of north central Fulton County, Arkansas. Bob was the last of 15 children of his 66 year old father, James Lewis Dunn and the seventh child of his 46 year old mother, Mary Angeline "Angie" Foster Dunn.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Andrew and Sarah Elizabeth Miller Dunn; five brothers, Charles, Walter, Ralph, Laurence, and Edward Dunn; five sisters, Stella Dunn, Della Enola Dunn Mincks, Dora Leonia Dunn Tripp, Mary Alpharetta "Mamie" Dunn England, Sarah "Sadie" Elizabeth Dunn Price, Anna Melvina Dunn Phillips, Minnie Ellen "Ella" Dunn Phillips, and Lelia Maud Dunn.
Bob was survived by one sister, Laura Edith Dunn Bacon of Paragould, Arkansas. His wife of 59 years, Inez Odom Dunn, born in the small town of Amagon in northeast Arkansas also survives him.
Bob suffered from the bone disease osteomyelitis from an early age. His sister, Laura, three years his senior, cared for him and carried him around on her hip until he was too big for her to manage. In later life Bob lived with Laura and her husband while driving a taxi cab for a living and used a crutch to walk.
Bob became estranged from his family after his marriage and move to Seguin, Texas. Many attempts were made to contact him by telephone but were quickly thwarted by the lady that always answered the phone. As his siblings passed away he did not come to any funerals including that of his own mother. His sister, Laura, was hurt deeply by his absence in their lives. She often asked if he could be found to ask the question, "Why"? At one time this author drove from Arkansas to Texas and sat in my car for a day waiting for Bob to come outside his home to ask that very question for her. It finally took hiring a private investigator to find out if he was still alive or dead. His death was discovered a year after it occurred but Laura was not informed until she asked in 2006 at which time she was informed.
He retired from Civil Service and was a Methodist by faith.
Funeral service/visitation/ burial information is as written above.
