She was born in Estill Fork, AL on September 5, 1928 to Willie C. Bean and Dora Pruitt Bean, both preceding her in death. Also preceding her in death is her first husband of 34 years, Austin Pete Steele and her second husband of 24 years, Aubrey E. Norman; sisters, Stella Kelly and Bonnie Austelle; brothers, A.G Bean, Bill Bean & J.W. Bean; son-in-law, David Beckett.
She leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her passing, her daughters, Deborah Beckett of Shelbyville and Ginger (Michael) Hill of Estill Springs; grandchildren, Steven (Willa) Beckett of Shelbyville, Tim (Audrey) Beckett of Murfreesboro and Rev. Justin (Laura) Hill of Pelham; great-grandchildren, Kimberly Beckett, Makenzie Hill, Austin Hill, Jordan Cooper and D. J. Carpenter; sister, Annetta Haddon of Winchester; sister-in-law, Jean Bean, also of Winchester.
She was a long-time member of the Liberty Baptist Church. By nature she was a very loving and caring person which made her the perfect fit for a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Over the years, she cared for thousands of patients who passed through the Intensive Care Unit at Southern Tennessee Medical Center, from which she retired following 24 years of devoted service. She loved quilting, baking, cooking and canning and was famous for her sour cream coconut cake recipe. She will be especially remembered for her love of family gatherings her ability and passion for caring for others.
Visitation will be at Watson-North Funeral Home on Wednesday May 10, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Thursday May 11, 2017 with Rev. Brian Nave of the Decherd Nazarene Church officiating.
