Wayne Eugene Jensen was born on February 6, 1930, to Rayman and Wilma (Dunn) Jensen in the Hardscratch area near Logan, Iowa and attended country school.

Wayne worked for the Seeley's Gas Station, the Chevrolet Garage and also for one winter at the Omaha Livestock Yards.

Wayne proudly served his country in the U.S. Army after being drafted during the Korean War. He served as a tank commander.

Wayne married Norma Coyle on November 3, 1956, in Blair, Nebraska. They were blessed with three sons. The couple lived in Logan, Iowa.

Wayne worked in road construction and helped grade the dirt for I-29 between Council Bluffs and Missouri Valley.

They moved to their current farm (the Coyle family farm) in 1958. Wayne raised diary cows and hogs, and farmed.

Wayne was a member of the Community of Christ in Pisgah, Iowa. He loved to read ~ especially Louie Lamour and James Harriet novels. He also liked to fish and watch National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR).

Wayne died on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa at the age of 87 years, three months and four days.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Gene Jensen on April 27, 1958; brother, Norman Jensen and sister, Muriel Chaney.

Left with memories are his wife, Norma Jensen of Pisgah, Iowa; two sons, Gale Jensen and his fiancée Theresa Holman and Mark Jensen and his wife Barb all of Pisgah, Iowa; four grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ileen Jensen of Logan, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday, May 12 at Community of Christ Church, Pisgah, Iowa, followed at 7 pm by a prayer service at the church. Funeral Services will be 10 am Saturday at the church, followed by burial at Soldier Valley Cemetery near Pisgah. Family and friends are invited after the graveside service to luncheon back at the church.
