Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 26, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie for Janet I. Sundberg, age 71 who died Thursday at the Long Prairie Memorial Nursing Home. Rev. Noah Wehrspann will officiate and burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Long Prairie. Friends and relatives may call one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Janet Ida Hockemeyer was born June 29, 1938 in Long Prairie, Minnesota to Amos W. Hockemeyer and Leona A. (Claseman) Hockemeyer. She grew up and attended Long Prairie Schools. On March 21, 1955 Janet was united in marriage to Allen D. Sundberg at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie. Janet was a life long resident of Long Prairie, where she raised her family. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, watching and feeding the squirrels and hummingbirds. Janet is survived by her children, Jackie (Dave) Gosiak of Browerville, Cindy (Alan) Schultz of Long Prairie, Theresa Byland of Long Prairie, Ann Sundberg of Alexandria; one brother, Dale (Betty) Hockemeyer, one sister, Jean (Norman) Kitzman, all of Long Prairie; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen; daughter, Chrissy Sundberg, and son, Randy Sundberg.
