Andrew Anthony "Andy" Hanson, a well known Dallas photographer, died on October 22, 2008, in Dallas. He was born March 7, 1932, in Falfurrias, Texas to Hans T. and Mary Elizabeth Leuer Hanson. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Andy can best be described as the event photographer for the Dallas Times Herald from 1960-1991. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hansie Hanson and Herbert Hanson; sisters, Helen Luckenbach and Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Flack; and one niece, Mary Elizabeth Flack Raymond. Survived by his nephews, James Luckenbach, Michael Luckenbach, David Luckenbach, Thomas Luckenbach, John Luckenbach, Lawrence Luckenbach, and Jay Flack; nieces, Sandra Wilkinson, Karen Pulley, Patty Cassidy, and Becky Goeltz; numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Also survived by his sister- in-law, Dorothy Hanson; and brother-in-law, Louis Luckenbach.
