The funeral for Karen Stephens, of Morris, Minnesota will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris; Reverend Chris Richards will be officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to services at the Pedersen Funeral Home. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery, Morris.
Karen Noreen Ernst, daughter of Grace Ernst was born on December 9, 1940 in Graceville, Minnesota. She grew up near Alberta and graduated from Alberta High School in 1958. Karen was united in marriage to Donald Stephens on February 24, 1959. The couple made their home near Morris where Karen stayed home to raise their son Allen “Butch”. She worked several years at Orscheln’s Farm and Home in Morris and later worked part-time at Morris Floral and Greenhouse. After retiring, Karen enjoyed gardening and growing flowers.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Alberta, and an active member of the Morris AmVets. Karen had a love for all animals, especially her dogs, kitties and pet goat “Bruno”.
Karen died on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She was 76 years old.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald, and one son, Allen “Butch” Stephens, both of Morris. Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Grace.
