Funeral Services: 12 Noon Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Historic First African Baptist Church, Hilton Head Island. Burial will follow in Talbird Cemetery, Hilton Head Island. Timothy Blake, son of Mabel Green Young and the late Elijah Blake, was born February 6, 1971, on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
He attended the local public schools of Beaufort County and was a 1990 graduate of Hilton Head High School. Timothy was introduced to the Lord as child growing up near the home of his great grandfather. He would attend Sunday School and all other youth activities at the Historic First African Baptist Church. As a regular attendee, he soon confessed Christ as his personal Savior, was baptized and became a member of the Historic First African Baptist Church, and continued to serve the Lord in spirit and in truth. Timothy said he would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of the Lord, so he proudly served on the Usher Board, welcoming family and friends into God’s house.
Growing up on the island, he as most every young kid, wanted to play Gator football. Tim was one of those kids that learned the sport and the game that ultimately led him to become diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys. An all-around athlete, Tim also enjoyed wrestling as a past time sport.
Tim, a jolly little giant was employed for more than 15 years by Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club and Winn Dixie stores.
On Saturday March 11, 2017, in the stillness of his home, Tim heard the voice of an all wise and all-knowing God. He answered his Master’s call and journeyed into a land of eternal rest.
Tim leaves to cherish his fond and dearest memories a devoted and caring mother Mrs. Mabel Green Young of Hilton Head Island, SC; a loving and kind sister, Karen Flemming of Hilton Head Island, SC; four uncles: Charlie(Frankie Mae) Young of Bluffton, SC Earl (Carolyn) Green, Ronald (Suganer) Fennell and Donald Blake all of Hilton Head Island, SC; three aunts: Mary(Harold) Young , Bertha Murray both of Hilton Head Island, SC and Julia Mae Blake of Charleston, SC; two nieces, Shyteria Flemming and Skylar Parlor; one nephew, Shamall Green; his god sister, Lashambrekia Bryan; those with whom he shared a special brotherly like bond, Barbara Oates, Roberta Young, Willie Mae Miller, Bernard Young and Irvin Chisolm, a host of cousins other relatives and caring friends to include “The Chaplin for Life” friends.
