Ethel Grace Adams Russell, 97, of Tower City, passed away Tuesday at Heritage Mills Personal Care Home.

Born in Tower City, April 28,1920, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Estella Mae Kuntzelman Adams.

She was a 1937 graduate of Porter Tower High School and a 1941 graduate of West Chester State Teachers College.

Ethel taught health and physical education at West Chester Joint Jr. Sr. High School and also taught physical education and coached basketball at Tatnall High School in Wilmington, Del. She retired from Wyeth Laboratories after working 10 years in the quality control department.

After her family, her first love was buying, rehabbing and selling houses, and she did so more than 50 times over a period of 60 years to be halted only by advancing years.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Karl Todd Russell; an infant son, Bruce Kenneth Russell; two brothers, Bruce and Earl Adams.

Surviving are her four daughters, Saundra Lee Russell, Barbara Anne Miller and her husband, J. Michael, Dawn F. Leeland and her husband, David, and Judy Kay Natale and her husband, the Rev. David; grandchildren, Joseph, Joan, Jane, Steven, Amy, J. Robert, M. Christian, Creed, Ashley, Lindsay, Celeste and Grace; 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home Inc., Tower City. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10 to 11 at the chapel. To sign the guest book, visit www.dimonfuneralhome.com.
