Doyle was born on July 20, 1939 in Midland, Texas to parents Grady Elgin Brown and Thelma Zenoba Tekel Brown.
Doyle was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was Honorably Discharged in 1960. Following Naval service, he returned to East Tennessee where his mother and step-father lived.
Doyle held a Bachelor's of Science in Engineering and a Master's in Engineering from the University of Tennessee.
Doyle previously worked at Crouch and Adams Engineering in Oak Ridge before beginning his career at the Department of Energy and Atomic Energy Commission.
Doyle retired from the DOE in 1999 and began his own engineering firm in Oak Ridge. Doyle's many contributions to Oak Ridge can be seen in numerous buildings and homes he designed that are fixtures around the city.
Doyle loved to ballroom dance and was a member of a local dance club.
Surviving relatives include Daughter, Christine Bruner of Knoxville; Son, Matthew Brown and wife, Patricia of Alexandria, VA; Brothers, George Brown and wife, Ruth of Collinsville, VA; Mack Brown and wife, Faye of Maryville;
Grandchildren, Padric and Elizabeth Brown of Alexandria, VA and Christian Bruner of Knoxville.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 12, 2017 from 6 – 8 PM at Weatherford Mortuary.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, 9:30 AM at Oak Ridge Memorial Park
