Leonard Paul King, 82, of 605 Peterson St., passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Rex Hospital.

Graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, October 4th at Clinton City Cemetery with Rev. Chubby Rieber officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 PM – 7 PM, Sunday, October 3rd at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.

Leonard, born April 21, 1939 in Sampson County, was the son of the late William Paul King and Jessie Mildred Holland. He was a truck driver for Lundy Packing Company and Walmart. He was a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge in Clinton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Welch King and brother Maurice Maxwell King.

Survivors include; children, Anthony Ray Honeycutt and wife Kim, Leonard Scott King and wife Billie Jo, Timmie Maxwell King and wife Lesa, Steven Brian King, and Michael Paul King and wife Nicole; and sisters, Mary Jane "Janie" Carter and husband David of Houston, Texas and Betty Puryear and husband Frankie of Clinton; grandchildren, Rachel Honeycutt Northcutt, Dalton Scott King, Payson Trot King, Carson Layne King, Marshall Graham King and Auriel Nelson; great-grandson, Alex Samuel Rusk; and special friend, Linda Williams.
