Born in Bristol, Connecticut on June 25, 1925 to the late William and Stella (Satkowsky) Bassett, he was a winter resident, permanently moving here in 2001 from Oregon. Mr. Bassett was a retired tool and die maker and a proud Navy Veteran of WWII. He enjoyed hunting and especially fishing, and loved playing cards and dice in the Biloxi Casinos.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kim Reed and her husband, Richard, Karen Worthington, Alan Ault, Barbara Geary, Cheryl Wardega, Beth Mclver, and William Bassett; his brother and sister, Donald Bassett and Shirley Tabar; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be on Wednesday, May 10th at 11:30 AM from Florida National Cemetery with the Inverness V.F.W. #4337 Honor Guard officiating. Friends are invited to meet at the Chas E Davis Funeral Home at 9:30 AM and visit with the family. The procession will depart for the cemetery at 10:45 AM.
