Susan was born May 8, 1941 in Marshall, Texas. She was the sixth of seven children born to Claude B. Finley Sr. and Mary Hamilton Finley. She grew up in a large family and family was very important to Susan. She married Bill Blanchard Sr. on November 22, 1964. Together they lived in many different places, first following Bill’s career and then later Susan’s. Susan was an executive in Chicago, IL for Sears, Roebuck and Company for many years. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Dallas, TX while raising a family. She and Bill retired to Tyler, TX where they were active in University Christian Church in Tyler. She and Bill enjoyed traveling and went to different places all over the United States. One of their favorite place to visit was Niagara Falls. Susan always chose to do the best things for her family, putting her family of origin and her spouse and children, and later grandchildren, first in her life. In addition to family and church life, she was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed reading, estate sales, and working with her hands.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Claude Finley Jr; sisters, Florence Hardy and Mary Graves. She is survived by her daughter and husband; son and wife; grandchildren; sister-in-law; brothers; & brother-in-law. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends.
