Dick Tayloy, 80,, of Noble, died Thursday, October 21, 2015 at Burgin Manor in Olney.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
Dick was born on August 14, 1935 in Richland County, the son of Charlie and Bessie (Henry) Taylor. He married Juanita Kay Pflaum on July 10, 1959 in Noble. She preceded him in death.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Dick worked as an insurance agent as well as owning a bulk distributorship for Marathon Oil for many years. He also farmed in the Brushville community outside of Noble. One of Dick's greatest passions was baseball. While serving in the Marines in Japan, he played on their baseball team, which left him with many fond memories. He continued to pursue his love of baseball by playing in many leagues over the years. He also served as coach and mentor for many young people wishing to learn and play the game. In addition to his love of baseball, Dick also enjoyed fishing. He and his wife, Kay enjoyed many family fishing trips to Minnesota. He set out on many trips in hopes of finally catching that "trophy" muskie. Fortunately for Dick, his last trip to Minnesota landed that trophy that he had sought for many years.
He is survived by his daughter, Melanie Hiles and husband, Don of Louisville, Kentucky; son, Scott Taylor of Noble; grandchildren, Kent Farris, Katie Manoocheri, Brooke Taylor, Taylor Grube, and Erin Taylor; great-grandchildren, Aria Manoocheri, Aiden Grube and Lila Manoocheri; sister-in-law, Judie Shryock; sister-in-law, Kathy Miracle and husband, Jim; nieces, Amanda Shryock and Amy Miracle Perlich; and nephew, Jeffrey Miracle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Juanita Kay Taylor.
