Kuney, Elaine Kalamazoo, Michigan Elaine died peacefully on Monday, October 21, 2013 at Friendship Village. She joins her beloved daughter, Mary Ellen and her husband, Clyde in Heaven. Elaine and her identical twin sister, Erminie Weeks, were born in Plainwell, MI on Valentines Day in 1914 to Earl and Alice B. Doster Bellingham. She received her Bachelors Degree from Western Michigan University. She was married to Clyde Kuney on June 21, 1940; he preceded her in death on October 17, 1995. She began and ended her elementary school teaching career in Parchment, retiring after 40 years. She and Clyde were very active in the Parchment community and Parchment Schools. She was a member of Kalamazoo First Presbyterian Church, the Ladies Library Association and the Kalamazoo Association of Retired School Personnel. She is survived by her nephews, Dave Jan Bellingham, Daniel Susan Bellingham, Rick Bobbitt Bellingham, Buzz Paula Milbeck and John Marge Milbeck; and special friends, Peggy Gagen and Jim and Carol Carter. Elaine was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ellen Kuney in 1966; her identical twin sister, Erminie Weeks; and her brother, Earl Bellingham.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Mary Van Andle will officiate. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or the Friendship Village Friends Fund: Please make checks payable to Kalamazoo Community Foundation and list Friendship Village Friends Fund in the memo line.
