Higgins received an invalid's pension (Application # 1178389 & Certificate # 1112057) on June 17,1896 for his service in Company "C" 12th New York Cavalry from December 24,1863 to July 19, 1865. His file list an alias of Michael Hennessy. His date of death is noted as August 7, 1926 at Truro, Massachusetts.
