MINDEN — Connie Bates, 65, of Minden died Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Kearney County Health Services Hospital in Minden.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden with the Rev. Christopher Hazzard officiating. Burial will be before the memorial service. Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of arrangements.
She passed away shortly after she was admitted to the hospital.
Connie was born on Jan. 8, 1952, in Minden to Duane and Shirley (Rupprecht) Christiansen. She grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School in 1970. On July 24, 1972, she married Lanny Bates, and they lived in Minden.
Connie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a day-care provider to both young and old. She retired seven years ago because of health issues. She loved spending time with her family, having coffee with her friends and attending Saturday garage sales.
Survivors include her husband, Lanny of Minden; two children and their spouses, Christi and Kevin Burdette of Gilbert, Ariz., and Jason and Kaci Bates of Minden; two stepchildren, Brian Bates and Pam Miller, both of Phoenix; three grandchildren, Braden Bates and Caileigh and Kennah Burdette; two stepgrandchildren, Tyler and Makayla Miller; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Terry Christiansen and his wife, Nancy; and nephew, Tim Christiansen.
