Charles Ray "Woody" Woods, Sr., 79, of Valdosta, died at his home on Monday, May 08, 2017. Born on October 6, 1937, in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, he was the son of the late, Charlie Y. Woods and Dorothy "Dot" Hayes Woods. A 22 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served his country during the Vietnam Era. A member of St. the Evangelist Catholic Church, he was an avid Valdosta High School football fan, and member of the Valdosta Wildcat Booster Club.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Pastor Michael Bass will officiate. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
