He was born February 4, 1936, in Chester, WV, the son of the late Maynard and Vilda (Harvey) Williams. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by one daughter, Velinda Rigdon, and Twyla and Tommy Sisco, by whom he was raised.
Jerry graduated from Wellsville High School and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He had been employed as a foreman for the former Sterling China Company. Jerry had also worked as a security guard for Homer Laughlin China Company and as a toll taker on the Newell Bridge as well as having owned and operated the former SOHIO Service Station in Wellsville. Jerry was an avid bowler and golfer. He enjoyed playing baseball and had coached several area teams. He was a member of Campground Community Church.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Phillips) Williams, whom he married May 10, 1988; one daughter, Julie Tucker of Wellsville; two sons: Jerald "Butch" Williams of West Point and Dean Williams of East Liverpool; two step-daughters: Donna Biddle and her companion, Dave, of Wellsville, and Cathy Crisman of North Port, FL; two step-sons: Larry Biddle and his wife, Kim, of Osceola, IN, and Michael Fraser and his wife, Lara, of Wellsville; and one brother, James Seevers and his wife, Pat, of Herndon, VA. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Thursday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
