Services celebrating the life of Patricia Quin McKee will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:30 AM, with in the Wellman Memorial Chapel at Forest Park Funeral Home 1201 Louisiana Ave. in Shreveport, LA. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00 AM, then burial will immediately follow at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave.
Patricia Quin McKee, 70, was born in New Orleans, LA and passed away on May 5, 2017 in Bossier City, LA. She lived most of her childhood in Shreveport, LA and graduated from C.E. Byrd High School. She attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA, where she was an active member of Delta Zeta Sorority and earned both her B.S. in Education and M.Ed. degrees. She served 27 years on the faculty of Natchitoches Central High School as an English teacher. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Natchitoches, Daughters of the American Revolution, and served as president of Jaycee-Janes and on the board of directors for Les Amies, both women’s service organizations in Natchitoches.
Patricia is survived by her husband, W. Edsel McKee, to whom she was married for 50 years; her son, Kevin McKee of New Orleans, LA (wife Dana); daughter, Lisa McKee Burns of Benton, LA (husband Chris); and grandchildren Chandler Burns, Emmalyn Burns, and Kylie McKee. She is also survived by her sister, Kathleen Quin Phillips (husband Mike).
She was preceded in death by her parents Hannah-Nell Harz Quin and Frank W. Quin, Jr.; her brother Frank W. Quin III; and grandson, Kaleb McKee.
