Ausencio Lopez Pereida Jr. 88 of Crosbyton passed away Saturday May 6, 2017. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday May 9, 2017 at the Calvario Community Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Casanova and the Rev. Luther Hernandez officiating, with burial to follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Calvario Community Baptist Church.

Ausencio was born on November 22, 1928 in Victoria Texas to Ausencio Sr. and Olivia Lopez Pereida. He married his wife of 64 years Mary Garza on November 15, 1952 in Sinton Texas. She was always been by his side and been a source of strength, love and inspiration. Ausencio was a good provider and a loving husband and father. He enjoyed everything about farming, driving the John Deere tractor from planting to harvest and everything in between he loved tilling the soil and watching the cotton grow. He was also an avid Baseball fan. He loved his family dearly and cherished the time he got to spend with them, he loved traveling to visit with them.

Ausencio is preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Christopher Joel Pereida and his siblings; Santos Amador, Francisca Gamez, Andrea Reyna, Lupe Medellin, and Ramon Pereida.

Ausencio is survived by his wife Mary, four daughters; Yolanda Anaya of Graham, Mary Hoffman of Crosbyton, Melinda Pereida of Crosbyton, and Ruth Pereida of Crosbyton. Six sons; Oscar Pereida of Crosbyton, Joel Pereida of Lubbock, Jerry Pereida Sr. of Crosbyton, Ausencio Pereida III of San Antonio, Hector Pereida of Big Spring and Leo Pereida of Odessa, and one sister Delfina Lopez of Oregon State. He also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 22 great- grandchildren, and one great- great- grandchild. The family would like to extend their deepest and sincerest gratitude to all the doctors, nurses aides and friends that cared for Ausencio and touched his life at the long term home in Crosbyton and Lubbock.
