Thomas Francis Regan (Tom), age 82, of Greensboro passed away from complications associated with Alzheimer’s disease on Sunday, April 30, 2017.

A Funeral Mass will be held at noon on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 2715 Horse Pen Creek Rd., Greensboro. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the Mass in the church narthex. Following the Mass and internment in Columbarium, there will be a reception in the church hall.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Phyllis, his sons Tom (Anne), Matt (Yoon-Young) and Paul (Xan), and his eight grandchildren, Kier, Thomas, Theresa, Ross, Finn, Sylvia, Tav, and Erin. He is also survived by his sister, Florence Keutmann (John) and his brothers James Regan (Peggy) and Dennis Regan (Kathy), and twenty-three nieces and nephews. He was loved, and will be missed, by all.

Tom was predeceased by his brother, John and his sister, Margaret.

Tom was a long-time parishioner and frequent volunteer at Paul’s Church. He was also a faithful member of the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 939, and a member of the Fourth Degree. Tom helped found the Knights of Columbus volunteer effort at the St. Francis Springs Prayer Center in Stoneville. In addition, he served as a volunteer for the St. Vincent dePaul Society for many years. Tom was also a long-term member of the Italian American Social Club.

Tom served honorably as an MP in the United States Army. Tom was a graduate of the City College of New York. After his discharge from the Army, he began a forty-two year career with Western Electric, which eventually brought him to Greensboro in 1975.

The family would like to thank the many friends, relatives and medical professionals who provided care and comfort to Tom and the family during the long course of his illness. The family also gratefully acknowledges the loving care provided to Tom by the staff at the Arboretum at Heritage Greens.
